A few weeks before your child’s start date you will be expected to complete an intake visit. During the intake visit, all enrollment forms are submitted, questions are answered regarding our policies and procedures, and the transition into our program is reviewed.

SAECC does not have a dress code. However, clothing should be the type that can be managed easily by young, inexperienced fingers. Weather permitting the children will go out to the playground daily. Please dress them appropriately (i.e. boots, gloves, hats, scarves, etc.). Also, please mark all clothing with the child’s first and last name. It’s important the child wears clothing that launders easily due to these activities. Barrettes and other small hair accessories present a choking hazard to the children, therefore are not permitted. Children must wear shoes that cover their toes.
The children will be encouraged to discuss their feelings of anger with the teacher and/or peers. Absolutely no physical form of punishment is allowed. We redirect undesired behavior and encourage children to “Take Some Time for Yourself” or “Cool Down” in order to settle down. Positive role modeling and encouragement of appropriate behavior is used.
We will be happy to celebrate your child’s birthday at the center. If you wish to bring a simple treat (cookies, cupcakes, etc.) for the occasion, please make arrangements ahead of time with the staff for the specific day. All birthday parties start at 3:30pm. Party bags and balloons are not allowed.
Yes. Please make arrangements in advance. We encourage parents to participate in the Room Readers Program, Share Your Passion Project, and to accompany us on field trips. There are also opportunities to join our various committees, the Parents’ Association, Room Representatives, and Board of Directors. We also accepted donations such as books, gently worn clothing, crib sheets, and office supplies.
