Rebecca Ball
Rebecca is an Assistant Teacher in the Elephants classroom. She has 6 years experience in early childhood education and has also owned and operated a licensed family childcare center.Rebecca is a Sunday School Teacher with St. Alban’s Parish. A warm and nurturing professional, Rebecca has her Child Development Associate credential (CDA). Rebecca’s child development philosophy is that all children have the potential to grow when given constant love, support, respect and positive guidance. |

Keran Edwards-Brown
Keran Edwards-Brown joined the staff of SAECC in 2009, part-time and then became a permanent floater in early 2010.Keran has been in childcare for over 10 years and brings a wealth of expertise to the center. Exuding an unflappable, calm, kind and sweet disposition as well as a confident manner, children gravitate to her warm, sunny, nurturing spirit. Keran is also a qualified Nursing Assistant and is trained in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.
Keran’s philosophy is to provide a creative and stimulating learning environment for all, to ensure success. |

Marcia DuVall
Marcia DuVall is a floater at St. Alban’s Early Childhood Center, though she mainly resides in the butterflies classroom. Marcia Duvall has a BA degree in Sociology and she is working towards getting her Child Development Associate credential (CDA) this year, as she recognizes the importance of increasing her knowledge in this particular field.
Marcia is a native Washingtonian who was in the very first class of women to attend the College of the Holy Cross in Worchester, Massachusetts. She has several years of experience working with children of all ages. This is Marcia’s second year working at St. Alban’s Early Childhood Center. |

Sobeida Garcia
Sobeida Garcia is a floater and has been at St. Alban’s Early Childhood Center for two years. She has been working in the early childhood field for over 14 years. Sobeida obtained an Associates degree in early childhood education and also a CDA with a pre-school endorsement.Her personal early childhood philosophy is to provide a safe and healthy learning environment so that all children can grow and develop. |

Logan Kapinus
Logan Kapinus is the Lead Teacher in the Bunnies classroom. She is currently working on her Masters of Arts and Teaching degree in Early Childhood. She attends American University. Logan attended Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey where she obtained her Bachelors of Arts degree.
Logan is a dance skater who skates with a Russian dance professional.
Logan’s philosophy for learning is that, by exposing children to new experiences where they can be challenged, children can flourish and thrive with each and every success. |

Adam Mason
Adam Mason is our food manager. He is an only child, born in Arlington, VA and has lived in Northern Virginia his entire life. During his high school years Adam was an accomplished athlete earning varsity letters in track and field and football. He is an excellent swimmer, enjoys both basketball and golf, and enjoys following sports statistics. He currently attends Northern Virginia Community College pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. Ultimately Adam would like to be a school teacher and coach. He has traveled extensively, enjoys sports, music, shopping, eating out, and hanging out with his family and friends. |

Melvilynda Melchor
Ms. Melvie is the Lead Teacher in the Butterflies class. Known for her humor and fun loving personality, Melvie has 8 years experience in early childhood education. As well as this, she served as a nanny for a family for nearly 9 years.Melvie attended university for 2 years in the Philippines and has her Child Development Associate Credential (CDA).Melvie’s philosophy is that by teaching children that they are loved and safe, they will be comfortable enough to learn anything. |

Susan Meshberger
Susan Meshberger is the Lead Teacher in the Eagles classroom. She is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, with an emphasis in Child Development from the Miami University in Ohio. Susan is currently working on her Masters of Art in teaching Early Childhood Education from American University and expects to graduate in May 2011. She has a plethora of experience in personnel management and recruitment and is currently a volunteer with the DC Rape Crisis Center and Hands on DC. Susan’s philosophy is that nine tenths of education is encouragement. |

Christopher Moore
Mr. Christopher is a floater at SAECC but has worn many hats during his time here. He initially served as the Business Manager, then Assistant Teacher, before transferring to the floater position. He chose this path to continue his process of understanding of the inner workings of an educational institution. Christopher is interested in a career in education administration and desires to establish his own school someday.
Christopher is currently working on his Bachelors of Arts in Accounting at the University of DC. He believes that all children can succeed if given patience and the opportunity to learn. |

Stacey Popowitz
Stacey Popowitz is the Assistant Teacher in the Butterfly classroom. She attended Elon University in North Carolina, where she received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She has worked with children of all ages for over 6 years in varying capacities; from teacher to nanny to tutor. Stacey cannot imagine herself in any other profession. She is a native of Washington, DC.
Stacey’s personal education philosophy is that love, passion, patience, encouragement and flexibility are the essential qualities for a successful classroom. |

Ciera Scott
Ciera Scott is the Assistant Teacher in the Eagles class. Ciera is a recent graduate from Virginia Union University where she received a Bachelors of Arts in Humanities and Social Sciences. Ciera is an athlete at heart and played multiple sports including track and field, softball and bowling. She received five sport scholarships and other academic scholarships for her hard work and dedication at Virginia Union.
Ciera’s philosophy is that children should know they will face challenges on their road to success. Teaching children how to deal with challenges, will help children develop a stronger sense of self. |

Janet Simmons
Janet is an Assistant Teacher in the Bunnies classroom. As a happy and loving person, she has been in the early childhood field for 12 years. Janet has completed all of her coursework for the Child Development Associate credential and is currently working on her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.Janet’s philosophy is that children can learn with positive adult support, tolerance and patience. She believes that we all can be lifelong learners. |

Audrey Wiggins
Audrey Wiggins is the Lead Teacher in the Elephants class. She has worked in the field of early childhood education for 35 years. Audrey has a Bachelors degree in Communication, an Associates degree in Child Development and Nursery School Education as well as an active Child Development Credential.Audrey enjoys being a part of the early developmental years in young children’s lives and finds it to be a rewarding experience. |
