Ms. Donna C. Mason, M.Ed.
Donna is the program’s Executive Director. With 29 years of professional experience in the field of early childhood education, 21 years of her career has been in leadership. She has a BA degree in Anthropology (African studies emphasis) and a minor in Biology from Rutgers University’s Douglass College. She earned a Masters degree in Education and Human Development from George Washington University with a concentration in counseling. Relentless about her educational pursuit, Donna has recently completed all required course work for a doctorate in leadership and organizational development at the Argosy University. She is currently engaged in the dissertation phase.
Donna is a certified early childhood training specialist, having taught the CDA curriculum for 9 years and trained nationally for 15 years. In addition to her education experience, Donna is a certified school counselor, trained psychotherapist, and FEMA trained crisis counselor.
Donna maneuvers utilizing an educational philosophy which indicates, “everyone has the capacity to learn with determination, support, resources, method, and environment”. Her leadership style is transformational believing that all team members, families, board members, officials, and stakeholders are an important and integral part of the program’s success. Utilizing a systemic approach, Donna leads with consideration to the program’s mission and philosophy, state regulatory standards, and NAEYC accreditation guidelines. In addition consideration is given to the program’s policies and procedures, curriculum components, the national standards of learning, and best practices as determined by the industry. She adamantly relies on the support and contribution of the collective body to create and sustain a community. .
In her spare time, Donna enjoys reading, learning, traveling, walking, refining photography skills, vegetarian cooking, attending cultural performances, viewing many art forms, and appreciating nature. She has a 20 year old son who is enrolled in college majoring in education. She believes that parenting has been her most rewarding and gratifying experience. |

Jan Joell
Jan Joell is the Business Manager for SAECC. She is an experienced administrator with over ten years of experience in administration and project management. Her most recent responsibilities included coordinating the administrative functions of a non-profit agency, human resources administration, budgeting and finance management, project management, recruitment, development of individual/corporate supporters, administration of the database system, and maintenance of internal computer network and facility equipment . Jan’s expertise in the area of management includes her experience working as a Development & Operations Manager and Director of Human Resources within the nonprofit sector.
Jan has a BA degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from Baker College. She graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also has an AA degree in Business Administration with an accounting concentration from Pennsylvania State University.
Jan is dedicated to family and is devoted to her son who recently graduated high school. She is an avid walker, sport enthusiasts, and loves to read. |
